An ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of construction electrical and mechanical equipment and plant
Driving licence (covers vehicles from 3.5- 7.5-tonnes) and forklift driving qualification
Your role will be managing all functions of stock and equipment.
This will include keeping track of what is available in inventory. The storeperson must monitor current stock levels to decide if more should be ordered, as well as organising existing inventory, so it is easily and safely accessible.
Ensure that stock levels do not run out.
Keep records of where the inventory and stock are going. The storeman is responsible for helping to develop the most efficient system
Keep records of all power tools and equipment, checking their condition on signing in and out
Handle external repair process,
Effective teamwork and self-management
Improve and maintain storeroom standards. Responsible for the safety and tidiness of the stores, workshop and yard
PAT testing of electrical equipment (training will be given)
Carry out equipment maintenance and ensure fit for use
Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
Ensure that the correct PPE is always used for tasks performed
Receive and check all incoming goods
Upkeep of warehouse
Accept and organise deliveries
General storeperson tasks
Although the main duties will be in the storeroom and yard, deliveries to site will be part of the job description and the ability to help out on site where needed
